Former minister and Bahubali leader Harishankar Tiwari passed away, read political journey

Harishankar Tiwari, former minister of Uttar Pradesh government and Bahubali leader, has passed away. The former minister was running unwell for a long time. Harishankar Tiwari breathed his last on Tuesday (May 16) night at the age of 87. Let us tell you that there was a time when Tiwari was considered iron in the politics of Purvanchal. He was once one of the tallest leaders of Purvanchal.

According to information received from family sources, on Tuesday evening, after his health deteriorated, the doctor’s team reached his residence in Gorakhpur and examined him. The former minister breathed his last during the night. The last rites will be performed on Wednesday (May 17).

He created history by winning the election as an independent from jail in the Congress government led by Indira Gandhi. He first made Kalyan Singh a minister in the government. After this, he was a member of the cabinet in the government of Ram Prakash Gupta and Rajnath Singh. From here his political journey started. He was elected MLA several times. Tiwari was a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Chillupar village Tanda in Gorakhpur district. Tiwari was also a minister in the governments of Mayawati and Mulayam Singh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh.
